A RECYCLING centre in Amesbury had to be evacuated this morning after an artillery shell was discovered on site.
Police were called just before 11am to the Hills recycling plant at Boscombe Down Business Park.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “The plant was evacuated as a precaution and experts were called to the scene to examine the item. “The object was quickly identified as having no explosive content and the plant was reopened at 11.45am.”
