YOUNG people studying BTEC music courses at Wiltshire College Salisbury will be battling it out at Southampton Solent University’s Solent Fest.
Five of the college’s talented acts from the music performance and technology courses will be taking part in the event on March 1 in the hope of winning a support slot at Southampton Guildhall the following day.
The bands have been working over the last couple of months to come up with an exciting concept which they will be bringing to life as they take on groups from other further education colleges from across the region.
Colin Holton from the college said: “They are hoping to take the audience on an action packed journey through the theme of Birth, School, Work, Death, inspired by the Godfather’s original song.
“With a wide variety of genres and exciting visuals as a part of a bigger overall showcase this night is set to be the peak of amateur musical talent in the south west – not to be missed.”
The Solent Fest regional music festival will be held on Friday, March 1 from 4.45pn to 8.30pm, and entry is free.
