New wetlands wonderland New wetlands wonderland

A NEW wetlands wonderland is being created at Langford Lakes nature reserve.

The reserve, which is managed and owned by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, attracts a wide variety of birds and wildlife.

Reserve officer Ashley White said: “Thanks to funding from Cleansing Service Group we are now able to proceed with additional works to enhance the wonderful wetland area and create an even more inviting environment for wildlife.

“The works will include the creation of a wildflower meadow, planting willow around the perimeter of the new lake and the installation of new pathways and signage.

“We will also be using some of the funding to make the reserve more accessible for the many visitors who come to enjoy the education centre, the River Wylye and the lakes.

“This funding will make a huge difference to the reserve, its wildlife and the people who come to enjoy the Lakes.”

Ian Carnell, associate director, of Cleansing Service Group, said “We’re delighted to support this project again by helping Wiltshire Wildlife Trust make an already beautiful nature reserve even more accessible for visitors to come and enjoy.“

The new wetland enhancements should be complete by September 2013.
