Rider injured after car spooks horse

WILTSHIRE Police are looking for a driver after an incident in which a horse rider was injured.

The incident happened at about 11.50am on February 20 when a cream or grey Mercedes estate car travelling along the B3083 from Winterbourne Stoke towards Shrewton sped past two horses.

This caused one of the horses to rear up and its rider fell off. She suffered a pelvic injury and was taken to Salisbury District Hospital. The horse was not injured.

Anyone with information on the driver and vehicle is asked to contact PC Ian Cooke on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

Dirty cream Mercedes carrying imbecile driver on way to Shrewton...that should narrow it down a bit.

Go get him/her.

'Sped'...define! Maybe but it's a 60mph speed limit, bendy and hilly so you come across horses with very little warning and even if you've braked hard you could easily give a spooky horse a fright...it's a risk you take when you get on a horse...just like a motorbike, you're vulnerable to other drivers! Of course, there are plenty of byways and fields without cars...
