AN ensemble troupe of five actors is appealing for help with funding to enable them to undertake a mini-tour of As You Like It. The Ripped Script Theatre Company, set up by former South Wilts student Laura Jasper and Jon Nash last October, needs to raise at least £550 by next Friday (June 28).
If the target is not reached, the troupe will be unable to appear at the Bristol Shakespeare Festival on July 6, in Pitton on July 10 or Stratford-upon-Avon on July 13 and 14.
Jasper said: “We now have a designer, which has meant that we have been able to give the production real shape, but in order for this project to take off we are looking for help in funding for costumes, props, travel to Stratford, basic accommodation, rehearsal space and actor stipends. “Costume is hugely important to our piece. We have five actors but each one is playing up to five different roles therefore each role must have a clear identity.”
To help them raise funds, the group has produced an advertising video and launched a Kickstarter page for people to find out more.
They are also blogging to show how the production is developing. Visit kickstarter.com/projects/136081004/as-you-like-it.
