A DAY of fun for all the family is taking place at Dogs Trust Salisbury’s open day next Sunday, June 30.

The rehoming centre in Newton Tony is opening its doors to the public from 11am to 4pm.

Guests will have the chance to visit dogs who need a new home and to get involved with lots of different activities throughout the day.

A dog show with categories including most handsome dog and shiniest coat will keep dogs entertained and owners will be able to pick up advice and tips. There will also be a drop stop for those who would like to donate items for sale in Dogs Trust charity shops.

Children under the age of 16 can get involved in the art competition, to be judged on the day, by submitting a picture of the family dog with up to 50 words beginning “My dog is my best friend because...”.

Entries should be submitted with a photograph of the artist alongside their dog.
