Have fun in Wonderland
CHILDREN can scurry down the rabbit hole and explore Wiltshire Wildlife Trusts own Wonderland at an event being held next weekend.
To celebrate the success of its Generation Plain project, the trust is throwing a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party at Beeches Community Centre in Bulford on Saturday, August 31.
Starting at 11am, project officer Susan Allen, will be making wild art teacups, individual natural tablecloths, masks and crowns with children of all ages. There will also be an amazing maze to explore, a giant caterpillar being built, and the final outing of Generation Plain.
Mrs Allen said “We wanted to go out with a bang and give the children something really fun to do before they go back to school and before we pack up our summer play things so we thought a tea party would be a fun way to mark the end of summer, and the end of Generation Plain.
“I hope that everyone who has attended one of our events, and even those who’ve never come before, will come out and enjoy the day.”
Funded by Armed Forces Community Covenant and Awards for All, Generation Plain has focused its work around the military communities of Salisbury Plain, helping people living around Bulford Camp to get out into the fresh air, explore their local area and build links between the military and civilian communities. The fun starts at 11am and continues to 2pm.
