Hospital trust shortlised for awards
SALISBURY NHS Foundation Trust has been shortlisted in two categories of the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Awards.
Salisbury District Hospital is up for the hospital of the year award and is also recognised for its innovation. The HSJ awards are the largest celebration of healthcare excellence in the UK, recognising outstanding leadership, innovation and advances in patient safety and quality of care.
Chief executive Peter Hill said: “The HSJ Awards are seen by many in the NHS as a benchmark of excellence, and this year they received more than 1,000 applications from organisations, highlighting the outstanding work that they been doing that has made a real difference to patients. “It’s particularly pleasing to be shortlisted in two categories that highlight and the overall strength of the organisation and our commitment to innovation. This is fantastic news for our staff, our patients and the local community.”
The judging panel will visit Salisbury in the early autumn and the trust will present to the judges in London in October. The winners will be announced in November.
