Thousands flock to summer spectacular
MORE than 8,000 people flocked to Hudson’s Field for Salisbury’s Summer Spectacular on Saturday.
A funfair, bouncy castles, craft stalls and fireworks were all part of the free family day, as well as arena displays from organisations including the Royal Signals White Helmet motorcycle display team and the Animal WD-40 Bike Tour.
There was live music throughout the afternoon and evening from local bands, including Sticky Toffee Jazz, The Deloreons and Jamie Eldridge, entertainment from Queen tribute act Flash and a fireworks display.
The event was staged by Salisbury City Council following the success of last year’s Jubilee celebrations. Council spokesman Claire Burden said: “We were delighted to see so many people enjoying our Summer Spectacular event.
"We were extremely lucky with the weather and the event is a great example of building a community spirit in the city. We look forward to next year.”
