Campsite lighting plan deferred
A PLANNING application for a revised lighting scheme for a campsite near Berwick St James was deferred at a meeting of Wiltshire Council’s southern area planning committee on Thursday.
William Grant, owner of Stonehenge Campsite, had applied for a condition to be removed from planning permission for the site and for a revised lighting scheme to be implemented.
A planning officer’s report to the committee recommended refusal of the application on the grounds the suggested scheme would have an adverse impact on the character of the area.
The council had also received objections from nine members of the public.
The application was withdrawn due to a late amendment submitted by Mr
Grant to address the objections, and will be brought before the committee at a date to be confirmed.
