Skiffle night for bike charity
SALISBURY Motorcycle and Light Car Club is hosting a Skiffle Night with The Frenzied and The Diligent at Harnham Social Club next month.
People are welcome to join in, and there will be a prize for the best homemade instrument.
The event, from 7.30pm on Saturday, October 12, will raise funds for The Bike Experience, which supports disabled motorists to ride again.
Tickets are £7.50 and available from Ian Futcher on 07979 271903 or 01725 510069.
• The club is also holding the Mavro Charity Run on September 29 for the same charity. Starting at the Wyndham Arms, Dinton, on the B3089 at 11am, the route takes in country roads through Wiltshire and Dorset.
The run is for pre-1980 machines, but other riders are welcome, although all machines must conform to the requirements of the Road Traffic Act.
Entry is £4 for club members or £5 for non members or on the day.
The club is donating £2 from each entry to The Bike Experience Charity, which was founded by paralympian and paraplegic motorcycle racer Talan Skeels-Piggins.
Coffee and bacon butties are available before the run from 10am, and lunch can be booked in advance.
Contact Roy Webb on 01722 504587 for an entry form, or download from salisburymotorcycleandlightcarclub.co.uk.
