Scheme to help older drivers
A SCHEME to help older drivers continue using their cars safely and confidently has been re-launched in Wiltshire.
Safer Driving with Age (SAGE) is being managed by Wiltshire Council and provides people, particularly older drivers, with advice and training about how best to use their car safely. Drivers are assessed by an instructor who then makes suggestions for improvement.
The cost is £35, and 30 people took part last year.
The programme is aimed at improving safety for older drivers, but can be adapted to suit drivers of any age. Application forms are available at wiltshire.gov.uk/sage or at doctors’ surgeries.
