Campaign to get cats neutered
SALISBURY’s Cats Protection charity is running a campaign to encourage cat owners to get their pets neutered.
The charity believes that getting your cat neutered before it can breed is an essential part of responsible cat ownership and is offering a voucher to cover most of the cost.
Some people believe that it is good to let your cat have one litter before neutering, but the charity says that’s not true. Ali Theobald said: “It is complete fallacy and not beneficial to the cat. One female cat and her offspring can become 20,000 felines in five years, if left un-neutered.”
Cats were traditionally neutered from six months old, but current scientific data shows there are no disadvantages to neutering at a younger age, after the animal reaches 2kg.
To take advantage of the offer email firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out the contact form at salisbury.cats.org.uk including your full name and address, the sex of the cat or cats and the vet that will be used.
