Chalke Valley Challenge
RUNNERS of all ages and abilities took on the Chalke Valley Challenge at the weekend.
The 10k and 3k runs are the biggest annual fundraiser for Broad Chalke Primary School and attract competitors from all around the area and further afield, with more than 325 people taking part this year.
Organiser Sue Wharmby said: “It is such a great event. We have kids and parents and grandparents involved. It’s a brilliant fundraiser for the school and involves the whole community.”
The winner of the 10k race was Tom Dukes in 36mins 49secs, with Beverley Hards the first woman to cross the finishing line, in 42mins and 49secs.
First place in the over 70s category was Terry Ryalls.
Former Broad Chalke pupil Will Phillips was first in the boys’ 3k and Eleanor Moore in the girls’ race.
