A PRIMARY school in Amesbury has its very own radio station thanks to the effort of the parent/teacher association.

Amesbury Primary School has launched ACE-PS (Amesbury Church of England Primary School) in its own studio, which has been named the Radion Shack.

An Anderton Tiger Desktop, which is packed with technology to make broadcasting easy for the children, has been installed and will allow them to make broadcast their own shows.

A spokesman for the school said: “It gives children such purposeful writing opportunities and then enables their work to be broadcasted on a live show. “It engages reluctant writers, stretches the more able students and engages with learners of all ages and abilities.

“Furthermore, the Radio station enables children to problem solve and use vital survival skills that are needed for the 21st century – the ability to collaborate to make a live radio show is a brilliant way of developing these skills.”
