WILTSHIRE Blind Association has launched a new service for youngsters with sight loss and their families.

The Zoom Club brings together visually impaired children and their families - and families where a parent has sight loss - to provide a support network and activities.

Wiltshire Blind Association chief executive Leanne Hubbard said: “We recognise that we’re currently not doing enough for younger people with sight loss and their families. We want them to have the same chances to enjoy activities and explore opportunities as any other family”.

As well as trips and activities, the charity will be providing information and advice on assistive technology, independent living skills and advice on help and support. The club is going to see Father Christmas at Whitehall Garden Centre, Lacock on Saturday, December 14 and is planning a tenpin bowling trip to Swindon in February.
