GIRLS and staff at Godolphin School held a cake sale for the Salisbury Trust for the Homeless, raising £205. The pupils decided they wanted to raise money for the charity because they wanted to help people less fortunate than themselves and to give people in need a chance to get back on their feet.

Event organiser Clare Astbury said the girls involved had highly developed social consciences and really wanted to do something to help others.

Well done everyone, good effort and much needed these days. Keep it quiet though, if the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions finds out you will be accused of scaremongering and having political motives.
