A POSTER designed by an eight-year-old girl will be used by Wiltshire Police to highlight the force’s Be Bright Be Seen campaign.

Amy Brett won a competition organised by The Neighbourhood Tasking Group (NTG) covering Figheldean, Bulford, Durrington and Larkhill, beating 135 other entries from local schoolchildren.

The event was organised by PC Jayne Wilby, with John Todd, chairman of the NTG, and sponsored by Co-op, Wiltshire Council, Sainsbury’s and Bits & Pieces. Amy’s poster will be used by local police to highlight the need to Be Bright and Be Seen during dark nights and mornings, and they will be displayed in shops and libraries.

Wiltshire councillor Graham Wright, a member of the NTG, said: “Well done to all those who entered, it is so important that our children and adults are aware of the dangers that darkness brings and being seen is an important help to drivers and pedestrians alike.”
