DO you have a Salisbury Journal D-Day plate?
Local historian David Brown discovered a D-Day 50th anniversary commemorative plate at a jumble sale in Wilton last month.
He said: “As a local historian I like to collect things like this, but I have never seen this before and when I spoke to some other historians they had never heard of it either.”
After doing some research, Mr Brown discovered the plate was a special limited edition offer in the Journal’s D-Day Special Edition in June 1994.
Only 250 fine bone china plates were made and they could be bought from the Journal offices for £11.95, but Mr Brown has not found anyone else who has one.
If you have one of the commemorative plates contact corey.ross@salisburyjournal.co.uk.
