A SPECIAL cake was made to mark a special milestone for a Salisbury nursery nurse.
When Karen Turner came in to work at Woodlands Primary School and Oak Tree Nursery on Friday she was ushered into assembly and presented with a cake, card and gifts to mark 25 years working at the nursery.
She said: “I wasn’t expecting it at all and it was a bit emotional really.”
Mrs Turner, who lives in Broad Chalke, started working at the nursery when her own children were pupils and intended to stay for five years. But now, aged 56, she says she hopes to stay until retirement.
“It’s a lovely place to work,” she added. “I love working with the children and the parents.”
