YOUNG people spoke with clarity and understanding on a range of subjects at this year’s English Speaking Union Schools Public Speaking Competition.
In the regional final held at Bishop Wordsworth’s School in Salisbury on Friday, the winner was a team from South Wilts School, while the host school team took the runner-up spot.
The four judges, headed by Peter Doughton, the ESU public speaking officer in London, had a hard task to select winners.
President David Stratton awarded the prizes and wished the winners success in the South West final on Sunday, March 9 at Blundells School in Tiverton.
