YEAR 5 historians from primary schools joined the Brilliant Club History Workshop at The Trafalgar School at Downton.

The children analysed artefacts from the past (some from 2,000 years old), studying them carefully in order to elucidate what they were, when they were made and how they were used.

“The students were very ready to have a go,” said the school’s transition co-ordinator Debbie Ford.

“They very much enjoyed the opportunity to work with our subject specialist, Mark Whitelock. “As always, it was a pleasure to welcome the Year 5 students to our history department and our school.”

The Brilliant Club is designed to support and extend learning at KS2, across the curriculum and to provide the opportunity and facilities to enjoy learning in a new and interesting way as well has supporting pupils in their transition from primary to secondary school.
