THE search for a play area in Bowerchalke is continuing.
Parish council chairman Clare Golden said a potential site at Misselfore has been discounted because of concerns about access, and the council is looking for somewhere closer to the middle of the village.
She said: “We have approached various landowners, but so far without success. However, we have one site in mind that is more likely and we have a preferred supplier. The village has been asking for play area as we now have about 90 children under 16.”
The play area is likely to include a mat surface through which grass can grow, along with swings, a see-saw and picnic table.
The parish council has amassed about £20,000 for the project from a Lottery grant, cash from Wiltshire Council, a generous donation and fundraising.
