The Trussell Trust is reopening the Bemerton Community Shop today.
The shop has undergone major refurbishment and Salisbury’s deputy mayor Jo Broom will officially re-open it at 9.30am.
Volunteers who run the shop and won a Shop Team of the Year Award in 2009, say they are looking forward to showing customers the new layout.
The shop has been expanded with a big mixed clothing area, children’s area, bric-a-brac section and cosy book nook. Additionally, extra space means that more furniture can be sold and disabled access has been improved.
The Trussell Trust’s, retail operations manager Chrissy McAuley said: “We’re so pleased to announce the re-opening of our Bemerton shop. Not only will we be raising vital income for Salisbury foodbank, but we are so happy to be investing back into a community that has supported us for many years. It’s a real pleasure to also be working alongside St Michaels Community Church. Please do come along and pay us a visit.”
The shop is next to the church on St Michaels Road in Bemerton Heath and is also appealing for stock to sell.
