A YOUTH event held at Salisbury Cathedral Salisbury Cathedral on Friday saw three local bands perform alongside Billy Lunn from The Subways.
Sound and Light was organised by local young people in the city, with support from Salisbury Arts Centre and The Unit.
The aim was to get young people from the area involved in organising an exciting event for their age group in response to a request for more youth entertainment.
Funding was successfully secured to stage the event, and a group of young people from local schools created The Unit Sound and Light Committee to serve as an organising body.
They were been responsible for the bulk of the event, liaising with the cathedral, booking the artistes, and organising orders, ticket sales and poster design.
A battle of the bands contest was held in early 2013, giving young performers the opportunity to win supporting slots at the gig.
The committee selected three bands, 8:05, Vibroscope and Jenny The Alibi, to play alongside headliner Billy Lunn from celebrated UK band The Subways.
