A BURGLAR has been jailed for breaking in to Wyndham Park Infant School in Salisbury.
Darren Mark David Jones, 28, smashed a window to get into the building on December 28.
He then ransacked the administration office and stole stationery. He admitted burglary when he appeared Salisbury Crown Court on March 3 and was sentenced to 12 months in prison.
Jones, of Neville Close, Salisbury, was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
PC Trevor Morgan of Salisbury Police said: “Jones caused a substantial amount of damage to school property; he smashed a window and used a crowbar to force open drawers and cupboards.
“We welcome the sentence and hope it will act as a deterrent to others. The priority crime team is dedicated to identifying offenders and we will do all we can to make sure they are put before the courts.”
