THE new police community beat manager for the Ludgershall area is calling on local people to help officers tackle crime.

PC Tim Bunt, who took over the role last month, is urging the community to report incidents as and when they happen.

He said: “We are aware that different areas have different problems, expectations and needs, so it’s about getting communities on board to make their area a better and a safer place to live.”

“We want to engage with the community and be proactive rather than reactive,” he added.

PC Bunt said priorities in the area include antisocial behaviour, particularly from young people outside shops in Andover Road, rural burglaries, drug offences, and the circulation of fake £20 notes.

“If the community sees something they don’t like, they need to contact us and let us know,” he said.
