FAMILY, friends and colleagues gathered to watch a dedicated civil servant rewarded with the Imperial Service Medal.
Marion Wardell, from Durrington, was presented with the medal by Brigadier Piers Hankinson, Commander of 43 Wessex Brigade.
The Imperial Service Medal is awarded to any civil servant who has completed 25 years unbroken employment with the service.
Mrs Wardell, who finished her long and loyal service within the Ministry of Defence at the headquarters of 43 Wessex Brigade, Tidworth last August, clocked up 39 years, working for the MoD in a variety of posts in the Bulford, Durrington and the Larkhill areas.
