TWO girls from Salisbury were among a group of youngsters to be presented with awards for completing the National Citizen Service scheme with Youth Action Wiltshire (YAW).
Charlotte Gidley and Karina Walker were presented with the awards, along with 13 other 16 and 17-year-old volunteers,by the High Sheriff of Wiltshire, William Wyldebore-Smith at West Lavington Village Hall at the weekend.
The teenagers have worked together in the evenings and weekends on volunteering, team building and skills development and completed a residential stay at Calshot Activities Centre as well as qualifications including emergency first aid at work.
Cleo Evans, YAW lead for the NCS programme, said: “It’s really great that despite school, college and work commitments, the group have been motivated enough to help other young people.”
