“THIS was a way for a community school to work with the community to create something wonderful,” says headteacher John Jones about the new community garden at Old Sarum Primary School.
The garden, which will also serve as an outdoor garden, has been funded grants of £5,250 from Laverstock and Ford Parish Council and £3,000 from Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and has also been supported by the Shaw Trust and Sarsen Homes.
The aim is to provide some green space that can be used by both the school and the local community, with two raised beds, four community beds, a bug hotel and a greenhouse made from recycled plastic bottles.
