MEMBERS of the public have an opportunity to see behind the scenes of some of Salisbury District Hospital’s key services as part of a 21st anniversary open day on Saturday, April 5.

There are guided tours around one of the hospital’s operating theatres, the cardiac suite where complex heart procedures take place and the endoscopy unit where the latest diagnostic equipment is used to identify a range of conditions.

There is also an opportunity to see inside a modern hospital pharmacy where the team uses electronic robotic machinery to manage the collection and distribution of medicines, and a tour of the rheumatology department.

In addition, there will be a wide range of displays which will give people an insight into the work that takes place across the hospital.

Chief executive Peter Hill said: “This open day gives people a one-off opportunity to see behind the scenes of some the key services we provide at Salisbury District Hospital.

“Guided tours will take place in selected areas and we will also have a wide range of displays covering other areas.”

Attendance at the open day must be pre-booked to confirm numbers. To register attendance and book your tour contact Isabel Cardoso on 01722 429390.
