FAMILIES and cycling enthusiasts can enjoy a weekend of cycling fun next month.

The Cycle Wiltshire Sportive event on May 3 is an opportunity for people to get on their bikes and experience the excitement of top-class cycling in their local community.

The event is part of Wiltshire Council’s A Legacy for Wiltshire partnership, and people of all abilities can take part, with a choice of three distances – 20 miles for beginners, 64 miles for enthusiasts and 100 miles for those looking for an extra challenge. There is also a one-mile route for youngsters and their families who don’t want to miss out.

The event starts at Five Rivers Leisure Centre at 8.30am and takes in a picturesque route through Salisbury and the surrounding area.

On Sunday, May 4, the fun continues with the Cycle Wiltshire Grand Prix. The race is part of the British Cycling National Road Race series and 100 elite riders from top professional teams will take part.
