BAKERS from across the country are taking part in the annual Help for Heroes Colossal Cake Sale.
More than 500 sales are already registered to take place between April 19 and May 5, raising funds for the Downton-based forces charity.
Emma Parry, co-founder of Help for Heroes, said: “We’re delighted to have reached the milestone of over 500 sales registered to take place, already matching last year’s total. It’s such a simple way to help raise funds for our service personnel and veterans, and I’d urge anyone with a passion for baking to sign up now and help boost the campaign even further.
“A cake sale can be as simple as charging a few friends or colleagues for a slice of cake at home or at work, right up to getting the whole community involved, and is great fun to do.”
Every cake sale organiser will receive a free Colossal Cake Sale fundraising pack to help make each event a success, including Help for Heroes wristbands, lapel pins, collecting tins, bunting, balloons and stickers. Register your event at colossalcakesale.org.uk.
