A BIG fundraising event will take place in Mere on May 17 in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The event is being hosted in the town centre by the Mere branch of the charity, and will be opened at 10am by Star Wars Stormtroopers and Boba Fett from the fan group 501st UK Garrison.
The fun and games will continue until 2pm with stalls selling plants, bric-a-brac, crafts, cakes, books, painted furniture and jewellery.
There will be face-painting, refreshments including a pop-up garden café, a visit from the emergency services, classic cars, and horse and cart rides.
For the first time in ten years there will be road closures in place for the event, and organisers are hoping it will be bigger and better than ever.
