THE Swan Advocacy service in Wiltshire has a new chief executive officer.

Teresa Wells replaces Nick Alward who has stepped down after two years with the organisation.

Ms Wells joined the charity in 2004 to lead the development of its mental health specialist service until taking over the operational management of the organisation in 2007.

She said: “I am delighted to accept the appointment – I have been on an incredible journey with Swan over the past 10 years where we have transformed from a small, local charity with three staff members and a handful of volunteers to an organisation employing 30 highly skilled staff supported by a fantastic team of volunteers across Wiltshire, Swindon, Bath and North East Somerset.

“During that time we have supported over 6,000 individuals to challenge social injustice, speak up about abuse, make a stand against discrimination and take control of their lives.”
