WILTSHIRE Police’s monthly disco for young people is moving venues.

After several years at The Chapel nightclub, Bluez ‘n’ Zuz, which is run by local neighbourhood policing officers to supply a safe environment for people aged 11 to 16, is moving to Kandi Lounge in Catherine Street.

The first event at the new venue is tonight from 7pm to 9pm and there is a £2 entry fee. Entry into the raffle is included.

Bluez ‘n’ Zuz provides an opportunity for officers to interact with the younger community in their area and demonstrate to young people their local police are approachable and aware of their social needs. The event operates a zero tolerance policy on smoking, alcohol and bullying.

Sgt Richard Goodman said: “The Chapel have been fantastic supporters of our event and we would like to thank the management and staff for all their assistance in making our youth event successful.

“I would also like to thank Wilts & Dorset bus company, who provide free transport for the young people from around the city to and from the venue, and local businesses who supply gifts and vouchers for our raffles.

“We can only hold these events when we have the support of other organisations, businesses and volunteers.”
