WILTSHIRE Police has introduced a new management structure this month.

The old roles of chief superintendents and chief inspectors are being phased out. The Salisbury Hub – covering the Amesbury and Warminster sectors as well as Salisbury – is now under the overall control of Superintendent Charlie Armstrong, above.

Insp Andy Noble of Salisbury Police said: “We are currently working together to pilot a new scheme of service demand reduction at Salisbury which will see a particular focus upon repeat callers, prolific offenders and repeat victims of crime within our Neighbourhood Teams.”

The inspector reports an “encouraging” fall in most types of recorded crime over the year to March.

Household burglaries fell by almost 14 per cent, vehicle crime by 23 per cent, criminal damage and arson by almost 16 per cent, antisocial behaviour by 11 per cent, and crimes of violence by 1.4 per cent.
