PEOPLE can learn all about wildlife, cycling opportunities and how to reduce their carbon footprint at an environmental family fun day.

Salisbury Green Fair will be held at Harnham Recreation Ground and the church hall on June 7 from 10.30am to 4.30pm.

Learn to become a wildlife detective finding out about the birds, bees, butterflies and bugs that live in Middle Street Meadow, find out what’s special about our rivers or join a guided walk on the watermeadows or Harnham Slope.

People can bring along their bicycles for a free MOT, pick up walking and cycling maps to explore the countryside on our doorstep or join a cycle ride to Broad Chalke.

There will be marquees with information on how to save energy and reduce bills and your carbon footprint.

Tea, coffee and homemade cakes will be served in the church hall where there will also be a book swap stall, buy Fair Trade goods and see displays by the Watermeadows Trust, CPRE and the Soil Association.

The event is organised by South Wiltshire Agenda 21, Wiltshire Wildlife Trust and Salisbury Quakers, who request that people come by foot, bike or bus if possible as parking is limited.
