STORMTROOPERS marched into Mere on Saturday for a fundraiser in aid of Cancer Research UK.

A day of fun and games, with stalls, face-painting, a visit from the emergency services, classic cars and horse and cart rides helped raise more than £3,600.

The event was hosted in the town centre by the Mere branch of the charity, and it was opened by Star Wars Stormtroopers and Boba Fett from the fan group 501st UK Garrison.

Organiser Harvard Dallibar said: “We can’t thank you enough for the great support, generosity and positive feedback we have received for Mere May Fayre.”
