POLICE are appealing for the owners of a large quantity of alcohol that was recovered from a Salisbury river to come forward.

A group of men were seen on April 14 with a green wheelie bin containing a large quantity of alcohol, which is believed to have been stolen.

A member of the public discovered the alcohol stashed in the river near the central car park the following day and it was recovered by the police.

Attempts have been made to locate the owner but this has been unsuccessful so far.

If anyone has had a large quantity of alcohol stolen from around the time of the incident they are encouraged to contact PC Emma Higgins on 101 stating the quantity and brand of alcohol that was stolen.
