VOLUNTEERS are being offered £50 to have a decontamination shower.

Researchers from Public Health England are looking for healthy men to help with a research project testing the procedures used by the emergency services. The project has been running since May and needs more volunteers to help test decontamination showering methods.

The study is one of the first of its kind in the UK.

Dr Richard Amlôt, lead researcher at Public Health England, Porton Down said: “We are looking for healthy male volunteers aged between 18 – 40 years old to participate in this study.

“The study involves the washing equipment used by the emergency services during emergencies that require decontamination of large numbers of affected people.

“The study has been successful so far but we need more volunteers to come forward as we reach the end of this study and for future studies in the coming months.”

All participants will receive £50 in high street vouchers as a thank you for their time. To take part or to receive further information about the study contact Public Health England on 01980 616968 or behaviouralscience@phe.gov.uk.
