PEOPLE paid tribute to past, present and future personnel in Salisbury’s Market Place on Sunday as part of this year’s Armed Forces Day.

The family fun day began at 11am with a welcome from Mayor Jo Broom, and included charity stands, live music, food stalls, fairground rides, and various military displays.

Children will also be able to take part in a number of free workshops including clay and arts and crafts.

Live music was provided by Memphis Belles, The Salisbury Plain Military Wives Choir and The Royal British Legion Band.

A highlight of this year's activities was an inspiring talk by Captain Heather Stanning, held in The Guildhall’s Crown Court room.

Serving with the Royal Regiment of Artillery, Capt Stanning, along with Helen Glover, won the first Gold medal in the 2012 London Olympics in women's rowing.
