ROBBERS roamed Pitton at the weekend – but there was no need to worry as the cops weren’t far behind.

The village held its annual themed carnival on Saturday with crooks and law enforcers taking part in a procession starting at 3.30pm and winding its way through the streets.

Then there was a fete with a range of stalls before the Black bear Band provided the music for country dancing in the evening.

Organiser Alan Shaw said: “We had the odd rain shower in the afternoon but fortunately that didn’t dampen things down.”

Visitors to the village have also been greeted throughout the last few weeks by creative scarecrows perched in people’s gardens.
