HUNDREDS of children from Mere enjoyed a teddy bears’ picnic at Larmer Tree Gardens.
The sun came out for the event on Sunday, which was an attempt to stage the world’s largest teddy bears’ picnic.
More than £1,200 was raised to help pay for physiotherapy treatment for Alfie O’Neill, six, from Gillingham, who recently underwent surgery that will hopefully help him to walk.
Donna Harvey, who organised the event, said: “We are so grateful to everyone who gave their time and energy to the event. The world record remains unbeaten, but the money raised will help to change Alfie’s life.”
