CHILDREN at a string of schools took part in a baton relay to celebrate the Commonwealth Games.

The Queen's Baton Relay started at Avon Valley College in Durrington, and Year 7, 8 and 9 students ran to Durrington Junior School.

Junior school pupils then joined in the run to the Stonehenge Inn, where they met Netheravon pupils.

From there pupils ran to Larkhill School, then the relay turned back, stopping at a church to collected pupils from Kiwi School in Bulford, who ran to Durrington Infant School. The relay ended up back at Avon Valley.

All those that took part received a T-shirt to remember the day. The baton was made by former Avon Valley student Alex Hitchen.
