YOUNG performers at Whiteparish Primary School took to the stage to celebrate William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday.
Key Stage 2 students performed a ‘child friendly’ version of The Tempest at the weekend.
Headteacher Kate Heathcote said: “It was a really fantastic production and a wonderful way to celebrate the 450th anniversary of Shakespeare. We really wanted to do something to acknowledge that with the children and it was such a great play to do with them.
“They now really know a Shakespeare play inside out and very well, and while it was child friendly with lots of songs in it, it had quite a lot of the original words.”
