A DEVELOPMENT of 208 homes is being planned on the site of a garden centre in Ludgershall.

Foreman Homes Ltd has applied for planning permission to demolish Granby Gardens and its associated outbuildings and redevelop the site in Astor Crescent to build 208 homes with parking, open space and play areas and a new vehicular access from Simonds Road.

The proposed site would be a mix of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties and a mixture of houses and flats, with 30 per cent affordable housing.

The developer also wants to include a number of sustainability measures such as rain-water harvesting, solar panels and sustainable urban drainage schemes.

Members of the public can look at the plans and comment on the application on Wiltshire Council’s website until next Thursday, and the council is expected to make a decision by September 15.
