AN award named after a man who overcame his own problems with addiction before devoting his time to helping others do the same has been presented for the first time.
Jon Finn was the Salisbury lead for The Wiltshire Addiction Support Project (WASP), which is run by addicts for addicts, supporting people battling alcohol or drugs, operating from Alabare’s base in Barnard Street.
Mr Finn died of cancer in April last year, aged 49.
The Jon Finn Award is presented someone who as “demonstrated a commitment to change despite facing hurdles and challenges”.
The winner of the inaugural award was Simon Perry.
