FIREFIGHTERS have ended their eight-day programme of short strikes over changes to their pensions, but will continue other industrial action.
An overtime ban took effect on Monday evening and will continue until further notice.
Fire Brigades Union general secretary Matt Wrack said: “They cannot accept a deal which rips up the pension promises they were given and creates an unaffordable and unworkable pension which takes no account of the real work firefighters do and the fitness requirements that go with it.
“The campaign will continue until government ministers offer an alternative, affordable and workable pension scheme.”
