FIREFIGHTERS were called to a field fire in Rollestone, near Shrewton this afternoon.
Nine pumping appliances, one water carrier and a control unit were called to a large field fire measuring 300metres by 400metres at 2.19pm.
The incident involved a multi-agency response involving Wiltshire Fire & Rescue Service, Wiltshire Police, the army, Boscombe Down MOD and the ambulance service.
The fire service were still dealing with the incident at 5pm but have reduced the number of appliances down to three pumps, a water carrier and a control unit.
The service are reminding the public about increased fire risks in dry, windy conditions.
